Christmas Time

To me Christmas is a magical time of year. It is probably very politically incorrect to say that, but then I have never been one to be politically correct.I thoroughly enjoy the lights and decorations associated with Christmas. Almost every year I try to set up a small Christmas Village and ugly Christmas tree. The ugly tree tradition started when I was driving past a Christmas tree lot, and saw this lonely little tree. I bought it for a dollar, stuck it in a bucket and covered it with left over decorations. Although it was only 3 feet tall, it did look good. The next year for 10 dollars I bought a 6 foot artificial tree..and yes it was ugly. It has drop down hinged branches so set up is a breeze. I have also discovered that if you leave the tinsel on, it is less work the next time you set it up. Over the years, trains, kangaroos, koalas, emus and cats have found themselves on or under the tree. I am waiting for the day that Snooziebear is on or under the tree.A few of the branches have lost their hinges but tinsel is strong and when you tie the branch to the trunk of the tree, it can hold it up. The tree lives on......
